Itinerary

Conducting preliminary research on flights from your nearest airport to find the most cost-effective options for landing in and departing from Morocco would be valuable. Please note that our tours are flexible, and we can commence from any city that aligns with your schedule.

Day 1: Pick-up from Casablanca Port [ → Drive to Rabat → Meknes - Fes  ] → (Boulaajoul)

Upon your arrival at Casablanca Port, our team will warmly welcome you with the Best Travel logo, assisting with a smooth check-in for all guests. Your journey begins with an exploration of Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic hub.

Depending on your disembarkation time, we may start by visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the world’s second-largest mosque and the only one in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors. However, if time is limited, we may leave this visit for your final day to ensure a more relaxed experience.

From Casablanca, we’ll head towards Rabat, Morocco’s political capital, where you’ll visit the impressive Mohammed V Mausoleum and the historic Hassan Tower, two of Rabat’s most iconic landmarks.

If time allows, we’ll continue to Meknes, known as the “Moroccan Versailles,” where you can discover the majestic Bab Mansour, the tranquil Sahrij Souani Basin, and the vibrant old Medina. We’ll also aim to visit the UNESCO-listed Roman ruins of Volubilis and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, the burial site of the founder of Islam in Morocco.

Please note that if your ferry arrives late in the morning, we may need to adjust the itinerary by skipping Meknes and Volubilis to ensure we arrive in Fès at a reasonable hour. Upon reaching Fès, you’ll check into your hotel, and the evening will be yours to explore the city and enjoy dinner.

Alternative Option: If time constraints require further adjustments, we may spend the night in a charming town near the foothills of the Middle Atlas mountains. This will allow us to reach the desert early the next day, giving you time for thrilling activities like dune buggies and quad biking before embarking on a camel trek into the Sahara.

Day 2: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Gorges → Erfoud → Rissani → Merzouga (Camel ride into Erg Chebbi desert)

Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Fès, setting off on a scenic drive through the captivating landscapes of Morocco. Our first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture and pristine surroundings. From there, we’ll continue through the lush cedar forests of Azrou, home to playful Barbary apes, offering a chance to see these unique creatures in their natural habitat.

As we traverse the stunning Middle and High Atlas Mountains, you’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas of dramatic peaks and traditional South Moroccan architecture. We’ll pause for lunch in the town of Midelt, nestled at the base of the High Atlas, where you can soak in the striking views of the surrounding mountains.

The journey continues across the Tizi-n-Talremt Pass (Pass of the She-Camel), descending into the desert plain along the lush Ziz Valley, renowned for its towering palm oases and fortified villages (ksours). Passing through the vibrant towns of Erfoud and Rissani, we’ll arrive at the edge of the Sahara, where over six million palm trees create an enchanting oasis.

By late afternoon, we’ll reach the peaceful desert town of Merzouga, where your adventure truly begins. From here, you’ll mount camels for an unforgettable trek into the iconic pink sands of the Erg Chebbi dunes. After arriving at your desert camp, you’ll have time to explore the towering dunes, watch the magical sunset, and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Sahara.

As the evening unfolds, you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan feast around a campfire, accompanied by Berber music. Under the star-studded desert sky, with the crystal-clear Milky Way above, you’ll experience a sense of wonder and tranquility that few places on earth can offer.

This journey promises unforgettable landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and the magic of the desert, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Day 3: Merzouga → Erfoud → Todra Gorges → Dades valley and gorge

Start your day with the magic of the Sahara as your camel guide wakes you early to witness the breathtaking sunrise. The play of light and shadows over the dunes creates a mesmerizing display of colors you’ll never forget. Afterward, try your hand at sandboarding, a fun and complimentary activity included in your stay.

Following breakfast at the camp, you can choose your mode of return to Merzouga: ride camels, or opt for an exhilarating experience with quad bikes or dune buggies (available for an additional charge). Once back in town, we’ll begin our journey toward the stunning Todra Gorge, often referred to as "Morocco’s Grand Canyon."

At Todra Gorge, we’ll pause for lunch amidst the towering rock walls and take time to explore the area. Walk along the river, wander through the lush gardens, or hike up the road on the opposite side of the gorge for spectacular panoramic views.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue our scenic drive into the enchanting Dades Valley, famously known as the “Valley of 1000 Kasbahs.” Along the way, you’ll marvel at the countryside dotted with countless abandoned kasbahs nestled among swaying palm trees.

As the day winds down, we’ll arrive in the Dades Gorge, where you’ll enjoy the golden glow of the sunset casting its warm light over the dramatic rock formations. A delicious dinner awaits you at your hotel, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the tranquil beauty of this remarkable valley.

This day promises awe-inspiring landscapes, cultural highlights, and optional adventures that make your journey through Morocco unforgettable.

Day 4: Dades Valley → Rose Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Benhaddou → Atlas mountains → Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll set off through the picturesque villages of the Dades Valley, passing lush fields tended by Berber women and enjoying stunning views of the majestic Atlas Mountains. Our journey takes us off the beaten path as we go off-road along ancient pistes to visit Berber nomads in their caves, where we’ll share a warm glass of traditional mint tea and gain a glimpse into their unique way of life.

Continuing through the Valley of the Roses, renowned for its fragrant blooms and the vibrant Rose Festival in May, we’ll travel along the famed Road of 1000 Kasbahs, passing the lush Skoura Oasis with its historic kasbahs nestled among palm groves. We’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where we’ll explore the Taourirt Kasbah and the fascinating Cinema Museum, showcasing the city’s prominent role in global filmmaking.

From Ouarzazate, we’ll head to the iconic Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the filming location for movies such as Gladiator, Indiana Jones, and Lawrence of Arabia. A guided tour will take you through this breathtaking ancient fortress, where history and Hollywood come together.

As we leave Ait Benhaddou, we’ll traverse the lands of the powerful Glaoui tribe, dotted with ancient kasbahs and fortified granaries. Our route ascends into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass at 7,415 feet, Morocco’s highest vehicular pass. Here, you’ll be treated to unparalleled views of the rugged peaks and valleys, a perfect spot for capturing the beauty of this alpine wonderland.

We’ll descend the mountain, passing traditional Berber villages with stone houses and sun-dried corn adorning the rooftops, before arriving in the vibrant city of Marrakech by late afternoon.

Marrakech, often described as a city straight out of the Arabian Nights, will captivate you with its maze of alleyways, bustling souks, and colorful market stalls. With the graceful Koutoubia Minaret dominating the skyline, this city offers an unparalleled blend of history and culture. We’ll conclude the day by immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere of Marrakech by night, ensuring an unforgettable end to this extraordinary day.
